Review:The hotel had a promotion offering us free front-of-line passes and $50 worth of drinks at Lavo Nightclub so we decided to check it out on a Saturday night. There were four of us between the ages of 33 and 53. The scene was generally a little younger, maybe a 20-something crowd.
This was not the ultra polished Vegas club crowd by any stretch; my sister commented that if the lights were immediately turned on, half the people in there would've have been embarrassed. It was, however, crowded. There were some couches to sit on but not much room to move around. The dance floor was packed.
The music was pretty good, but the DJ was very active--you know, playing only pieces of songs and stuff.
The drinks were fabulous. My standard vodka soda was poured with Grey Goose, which was cool. Drinks were priced around $10 each.
Overall, Lavo Nightclub was amusing from a people watching standpoint---but then I didn't pay to get in. Had I forked over a big cover, I might have been disappointed. Maybe it was an off night, but the Lavo scene seemed to be lacking a bit.
